I've gone to this establishment since I was very young. The people are always so welcoming and it's always well kept and clean! The food is fabulous and the service is fast! I always leave there happily full. I have since moved to another state with my husband and we have yet to find a place as good as this one. Every time we come back home we go here with our family for dinner!! I will be a fan and customer as long as they're in business!!! Fantastic all around!!

We were able to get some food to go this last weekend and it was superb. We ordered, almond Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Lo Mein and Crab Rangoons. All the food was hot and tasted fresh. Portions were huge and very satisfying. I dont make it to Bad Axe to often but when I do this is a must have. I will be back!

We must say, there were lots of people here. The staff was friendly, but . . that's where the "good" ended. We did the buffet - which we felt was expensive for the very limited selection offered. There were a couple/few chicken dishes, one seafood dish w/shrimp and one with beef - along with rice and a couple veggie dishes. We were also offered soup, which was just "OK" - and tea, which was standard black tea (not a special jasmine tea or something like that to go along with Chinese dinner. Sorry - we won't be back.

Before I moved to an actual city this was like the best Chinese food I'd ever had. But if you've ever escaped the tundra of Huron County, you'll be largely unimpressed.

Great Mongolian beef and the vegetables always taste great in the sauce. I think they just buy frozen egg rolls they taste good though. I didn't care for their egg drop soup it was too thick for my liking. The food is very good and you get large portions. My wife likes their sweet and sour chicken. The chicken is definitely done from scratch. The inside is dated, chairs are crummy banquet chairs and tables are from the 80's. Service was okay. I think they should try to class up the look and it could start by making the staff follow a dress code.

Was up here for work three days and I was worried that the Chinese food was mediocre since you had to travel very far to get Asian food .After working 16 hours I got myself a coup large cans of Miller Lite and headed over to the China King who I found on my 6 yr old Garmin without updates didn't know if this place was still around. I walked in at 9pm just before closing and order Pork Fried Rice(quart)and Szechuan Chicken combo. I sat by the kitchen door and was heard them talking in our native tongue. Now I've been a huge fan of the NYCstyle Fukien run Chinese restaurants that seem to be popping up the last 20 or so years all over. My family had owned Cantonese restaurants in the last 40 years in Detroit Metro Area so I know what good chinese is. For this Cantonese style I would give it a 7 out of ten. The next day i came back and tried their buffet. I was please that the Almond Chicken was so thick and that the light Almond Chicken gravy was not the roux based Egg Foo Young Gravy that some places now use on Almond Chicken. I liked it so much I ordered some to go and drive it 100 mile back home. The Sesame(less) chicken on the buffet was good too. Their noodles on the buffet was limp and soggy, it had asian flavor but looked curiously non Asian noodles. I would go there again if in the area.

I've been a fan of China King for over 15 years. This restaurant has stood the test of time. Portions are ample, food is fresh. The taste and preparation are the most consistent I've ever experienced. The Almond Chicken, Sweet & Sour Chicken, Mongolian Beef, Gai Kow, Sesame Chicken... Well, everything is great. Their soups are the best. Their buffets are kept fresh and hot. Service is fast and friendly. I could get into the West Coast Chinese food vs. Mid-Western Chinese food, and how you're comparing apples to oranges there (I've lived on the West Coast, too.), but it really isn't worth your time. China King is a great place is, and it stands on its own. It's survived being in a small, mostly caucasian area - the economic downturn, as well. So, that should speak for itself. Ask yourself what restaurants you know that have been open the last 20 years, same owners, same location... China King has, they definitely know what they're doing.

This little place is a gem in bad axe. Whenever I'm home, this is one of the places I need to go to. Their buffet, far from being low quality, is still great value. Do yourself a favor and get that. Their Chinese food is absolutely delicious and you will love it. All of my friends who grew up here agree.

Absolute best Chinese food! I've eaten at many Chinese restaurants in many cities in Michigan and nothing compares to the quality here. It is Bad Axe, so the restaurant itself isn't the prettiest, but its well worth the drive if you're in eastern Michigan. My friends and I go out of our way to come here!

This is as cosmopolitan as it gets in Bad Axe. Decent Chinese food with excellent service. Reasonably priced and its smoke free. Try the weekend lunch buffet.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
